The Ogun state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been divided into three factions, Naij.com can authoritatively report.
Three executive officers emerged at the state PDP Congress as factions organised theirs separately.
One group is being led by the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District,Prince Buruj Kashamu while the other two are led by the former Speaker, House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole and Hon. Ladi Adebutu,present lawmaker representing Remo federal constituency.
At the separate Congress held today at three different venues in Abeokuta,the State capital, three different Chairmen were emerged in the party.
They are; Chief Wale Egunleti, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele and Engr. Bayo Dayo.
The former Chairman,who was suspended from office last week,Engr. Bayo Dayo was re elected into office from the Kashamu led faction.
The Congress was held at the party Secretariat,along IBB Boulevard,Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
Leaders of the party in the State sighted at the Congress include the Senator representing Ogun East,Buruj Kashamu, Mr Segun Seriki,State lawmakers under the party led by the State Chief Whip, Wale Alausa.
The other faction,which is being led by the lawmaker representing Remo federal constituency, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu had their Congress at the main hall of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL,Abeokuta.
He is a biological son of the popular business mogul,Sir Kensington Adebukanla Adebutu,a.k.a. ‘Baba Ijebu’.
At the end of the election,which was held under right security,the former Chairman of Ifo local government and a governorship aspirant in the last general election in 2015,Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele was elected as the party State Chairman.
