Husband strangles five months pregnant wife to death

A man in the Egbeda area of Lagos State, Lekan Shonde, has strangled his pregnant wife, Ronke, to death.
Ronke, said to be five months pregnant, according to available information, was strangled to death on Friday by Lekan.
Immediately Lekan discovered that Ronke was dead, he was said to have abandoned the corpse of his wife with their two children.
He locked the door of their flat in Orelope area of Egbeda as he fled.
It was the shouts of the kids that attracted the attention of neighbours who had to bring down the door to gain entrance.

Blood was said to be oozing from the nostrils of Ronke when her corpse was discovered.
There were also bruises on her.
Lekan, neighbours said, was in the habit of beating his wife, who is said to be doing well in her clothing trade.
She was said to be a staff of Guaranty Trust Bank until she was sacked and then went into selling of clothes.
Sources said the fleeing husband was set to be found as at Saturday morning.
